The Residences at Harvard Commons is a new community of single-family homes and affordable units located in a beautiful Dorchester subdivision. It lies on a portion of the former Boston State Hospital site which closed in 1979 and had lain empty until this new construction started.

In its first phase, a $20 million project brought 45 units of affordable housing to the area, with funding assistance from the City’s Department of Neighborhood Development and the State’s Department of Housing and Community Development.

Phase II of the project brought 26 market rate homes to this beautiful Dorchester subdivision while strengthening the neighborhood’s multicultural identity. It is currently all sold out with all homes under agreement.

Work on Phase III of the project began in January 2016 and will bring an additional 28 homes to the development. The project will also include a full-featured community center, gym, and a possible child-care facility for the residents of Harvard Commons.

Between Phase II and Phase III, the $25 million project brings 54-unit subdivision of brand new single family homes that all have attached garages and an array of options available to home buyers for customization. Harvard Common’s meticulous design, sophisticated living, central location and diversity makes this a highly sought after community for families looking to call Boston their home.
